Situated in the British Columbia Coast mountains and only 2 hours from Vancouver, Whistler is the most popular ski destination in Canada. Whistler sits next to Blackcomb mountain both averaging 10m of snow in the season. This combined ski area is the largest in North America and has the perfect combination of woodland trail, open bowls and tremendous powder .

At the bottom of these ski areas the pedestrianised village has all the expected town facilities and has the most vibrant après ski of any of the Canadian resorts. There are over 50 restaurants, bars and clubs to fill your nights till the early hours after a good day out on the slopes. The free village shuttle and convenient public transit system making getting back to accommodation easy. There are some catered chalets in Whistler but because this is a traditional European phenomenon they are not widely available and can be expensive. Catering in Whistler accommodation will usually include breakfast, and some establishments will have restaurants where you can dine in the evening. The apartment or room only accommodation, if not in a hotel, will mostly include a kitchenette area to facilitate self catering. With rooms that you can usually swing a cat in, being a refreshing change from the standard in Europe, you still do need to beware of certain configurations that may cause an upset, eg some apartments for 4 people, have two queen size beds in the bedroom and no sleeper couch option, which may not be ideal. Be sure to check the layout that you are getting and the facilities that are included. As far as eating out goes, Whistler has plenty to offer for all price brackets, and the variety adds to the appeal.
